Baseball Falls to Rollins in Last Game in Florida

Winter Park, FL - The Nyack College baseball team played their final game of their Florida trip against Rollins College. 

The Basics:
Final: Nyack 6, Rollins 10
Records: NC (1-9-1), RC (13-7)
Location: Winter Park, Florida

Game Summary:

  • Nyack got off to a great start with four scored runs in the top of the fourth; Alec Petterson scored off a Herman Alvarado single, before Matthew Johnson also scored on a fielding error by the Rollins defense
  • Gabriel Vazquez and Herman Alvarado rounded up the scoring for Nyack in the second inning when they scored off a Austin Fischer single
  • Rollins answered back right away scoring five runs in the bottom of the second and another pair of runs in the bottom of the third
  • Rollins increased their lead with runs scored in the bottom of the 5th and 7th to lead 10-4
  • Nyack tried to push back but fell short scoring only two of the six needed runs in the top of the 9th

Up Next:
Nyack will move on and face Franklin Pierce in North Carolina on Wednesday and Thursday.
