Men's Basketball Wins Third Straight

Nyack, NY - The Nyack College men's basketball team hosted the Roberts Wesleyan College Redhawks in a non-conference matchup this Saturday. The Warriors came out on top defeating Roberts 76-55 for their third consecutive victory.  Nyack is now owns a 3-1 record. 

The Warriors were led by senior Robert Tyler, who scored a game-high 18 points, five rebounds, and one steal. Jaron Smith would also hit double digits with 16 points.

Nyack opened the scoring on a Ga'Briel Chandler jumper at the 19:45 mark of the first half to start a 18-4 run to start off the game. The Warriors would continue to dominate the game and increased their lead to 23, 38-15, at halftime.

Nyack shot 48.1 percent (13-27) in the first half, while Roberts shot just 23.1 percent (6-for-26). However, Roberts held a 17-16 edge on the glass in the opening stanza.

The second half started with a 4-0 run by the visitors, before the Warriors would answer with a Jaron Smith 3-pointer. The Warriors defended their lead throughout the second half and finished the game with a 21 point advantage.

The Warriors will move on to travel to New Jersey to square off with the Caldwell University Cougars on Tuesday.Tip-off is slated for 7:30 pm.
