Men's Basketball Falls to Eagles at Home, 70-65

Nyack, N.Y. -- The Nyack College men's basketball team suffered their third straight conference loss in a home game against the Post University Eagles, 70-65, on Saturday afternoon at Bowman Gym.

Nyack (3-4, 0-3) had three players in double figures, led by Robert Tyler's 19 points and seven rebounds. He was closeley followed by Shawn Witherspoon with 15 points and Jaron Smith with 11. 

Nyack got on the board first by a Robert Tyler free throw, before Jaron Smith added a shot from behind the arc to give Nyack a 4-0 lead. But Post answered with 3 consecutive 3-point shots and a 9-2 run to gain a three point lead at the 14:29 mark. The remaining of the half saw several lead changes and a closeley contested 20 minutes that finished with a score of 23-28 in favor of Post.

Post started the second half with a 10-3 run to increase their lead to 12. But Nyack answered with a 6-0 run to cut the lead back down to 6. The game would continue to go back and forth. Nyack would cut the Post lead to as much as three points with 3:34 to go in the game. Both teams fought hard through the remaining minutes, but the Warriors were unable to close the gap completely. Post hung on to their lead during the final minutes and the game would eventually finish with a score of 70-65 in favor of the Eagles.

Nyack returns to action on Tuesday, Dec. 6, when they travel to NJ to square of with the Blommfield College Bears. Tip-off is slated for 7:30pm
