Lakewood, NJ -- The Nyack College men's basketball team earned their second straight conference win when they defeated the Georgian Court University Lions, 75-59, on Tuesday night.
Nyack got on the board first by a Robert Tyler jump shot, which started a 15-1 run in the first six minutes of the game. Georgian Court would answer with a 13-2 run to cut the Warrior lead down to 3. The Warriors would use another 9-1 run to extend their lead to 11 with 5:26 to go in the first half. Nyack would defend its lead until halftime, finishing the first period with a 9-point lead, 30-21.
Georgian Court started the second half with a 9-3 run to come back within three at the 18:11 minute mark, 33-30. The score would remain close over the next few minutes, with Nyack holding on to their lead. An Imran Ritchie shot from behind the arc would spark a 8-0 Warrior run to give Nyack a 10-point lead, 44-34, with 13:05 to go. Nyack would continue to add on to their lead, extending it to as much as 18 points at the 5:56 minute mark, 63-45. The Warriors defended their lead throughout the remaining minutes of the game finishing with a lead of 16 points, 75-59.
Nyack returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 14, when they host the Rams of Philadelphia University in a CACC match-up at Bowman Gym. Tip-off is slated for 3:00pm
