Nyack, N.Y. - The Nyack College men's basketball squad was upended by the Dominican College Chargers, 78-52, on Monday evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played in Bowman Gym. With the win, Dominican improves to 16-9 overall and 11-5 in conference play, while Nyack falls to 6-18 and 2-15 in CACC play.
Senior Robert Tyler (Beltsville, MD) led three Warriors in double figures with 16 points (5-11 from the floor) and six boards. He was followed by junior Imran Ritchie (Uniondale, NY) with 15 points and sophomore Shawn Witherspoon (Philadelphia, PA) with 10 points.
The Chargers held a slim 19-18 advantage with 6:48 to go in the first half when they charged ahead by going on a 21-0 tear to claim a 40-18 advantage en route to a 40-20 halftime lead.
Nyack would start the second half on a 5-0 run to cut the lead to 40-25 but would not get closer then that the rest of the night.
The Warriors will return to the court on Saturday, when they travel to Dominican for another CACC match up. Tip-off is slated for 3:00pm.
