Second Half Rally Not Enough as Warriors Come Up Short at Dominican

Orangeburg, NY – The Nyack College men's basketball team got off to a slow start on Saturday February 18th as they took on the Dominican College Chargers, in the end they were defeated 83-73 in conference play.

The Warriors fell behind by double digits early as hot shooting by Dominican started the game on a 12-0 run. The Chargers were able to extend the lead in the first half to as much as 13 points at the 6:57 mark. At the intermission Nyack had a deficit to overcome as they found themselves down 47-28.

A determined Warrior squad approached the second half on a mission to get back into the game.  A 21-11 Nyack run put the game within reach 58-49 by the 11:22 mark.  The game was played tight the rest of the way as the Warriors were able to cut the lead to 8 (81-73) with less then a minute left to play.  Thats as close as they would get as the second half rally was not enough. Nyack would be defeated 83-73.

Robert Tyler, once againled all scorers for the Warriors with 24 points. Ga'Briel Chandler added 12 points and five rebounds from off the bench.

Nyack College (6-19, 2-16 CACC) conclude their season play on Tuesday when they will host Felician College for their last CACC matchup. The game is slated for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff in Bowman Gymnasium.
