Softball Collects First Victories Of Season

Myrtle Beach, SC - (Friday, March 8, 2013) Nyack Softball would come out on top with a 6-1 victory in their season opener and an 8-2 victory in the second match-up.

They took the field today at 9:30 a.m. against the Penn State Beavers followed by Penn State Fayette at 11:30 a.m. and came out strong, snaching their first pair of victories.

The Lady Warriors had 24 hits overall.

Sophmore, Chelsea Macaluso bought in 4 RBIs and Junior, Kelsey Lyons went 5 for 6 bringing in 3 RBIs.

Macaluso's homerun hit in the 3rd inning against Fayette was one of today's major highlights.

Nyack focused primarily on playing a game of small ball and working eachother around the bases. The score to each game shows just that, base hit after base hit. These two victories have set the tone for the next 2 upcoming games this Sunday at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. here in South Carolina Spring training.

The Warriors look forward moving on in Myrtle Beach as they return to action March 10th against Montreat and then will take on Pitt. Greensburg.
