Nyack Softball travelled to face Bloomsburg College in a non-conference match on Thursday, March 17th.  The double header featured two victories for Bloomsburg of 5-9 and 4-9.

In game 1 Nyack earned 8 hits and 5 runs out of 29 at bats with 2 fielding errors.  Freshman Katie Lupinacci (Bordentown, NJ) earned Nyack's first 2 runs on the scoreboard with a double to right center to drive Graduate student Meghan Richards (Nanuet, NY) and freshman Alissa Burgnoli (Hamilton, NJ).  Richards went 2 for 4, scoring twice, with 3 RBI's against Bloomsburg.  Richards homered in the top of the 5th putting 3 runs up for Nyack.  Her shot brought the Warriors within 2 runs of Bloomsburg.  Bloomsburg, however, had a secure foundation in the lead after taking advantage of a slow start in the 1st inning to score 5 runs.  They responded to Richards efforts to close the score gap by adding a homerun of their own and a run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the 6th.

Game 2 saw 9 hits spread through the Warrior line-up out of 27 at bats.  Nyack's top three in the line-up, Brugnoli, senior Kim Yano (Blauvelt, NY), and sophomore Victoria Triozzi (Branchburg, NJ) each earned at least 1 hit and 1 run, establishing a rhythm for the team to fall into.  Seven of the nine batters garnered at least 1 hit for the match.  Triozzi and sophomore Aferdita Sinanaj (Tappan, NY) each tallied two hits for the night.  Triozzi doubled in the top of the 3rd to earn an RBI as Yano rounded the bases.  Bloomsburg capitalized on the Warrior defense in the bottom of the 4th to rally 4 of their 9 runs sealing their victory in the bottom of the 6th with 2 additional runs.
