Bronxville, NY - The Nyack College women's softball team earned a split in their CACC doubleheader with the Concordia College Clippers. The games were played at the Clipper Softball Field on Monday afternoon.
The Clippers would tie the game in the bottom of the third with two scored runs, before the Warriors would move back ahead with a run in the top of the fourth. Morgan Hans scored after a Alissa Brugnoli double to right center. However, the Clippers would tie the game again in the bottom of the fourth, 3-3.
In the top of the sixth Alissa Burgnoli reached second base on an error, while Sarah Spindel made her way to home plate. Alissa Brugnoli would then steal home to add another run to the Warrior scoreboard, 5-3. Katie Lupinacci would conclude the scoring in game one when she scored off a wild pitch.
Game two saw the Clippers jump to an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. The Clippers would add another on in the bottom of the sixth, 4-0. Nyack tried to get back into the game, but was unable to score more than two runs in the top of the seventh. Brittany Blair and Alissa Brugnoli scored for the Warriors.
Up next: The Warriors will be back on Wednesday when they travel to New Jersey to take on the Felician University Golden Falcoons in a CACC doubleheader. First pitch is slated for 2:30 pm.
