The Nyack College Softball opened its 2018 campaign with a Spring Break trip to Clermon, FL. The Warriors opened the season with two games against Kentucky Wesleyan College and Lake Erie College. Nyack came up short in both constest and starts the season with a 0-2 overall record. 

In game 1 Kentucky got off to the better start scoring four runs in the first two innings. The Panthers added another pair of runs in the top of the fifth to increase their lead to five, before they added five more in the top of the 7th to seal their 11-0 victory over Nyack. Aferdita Sinanaj, Katalina Padilla, and Morgan Hans got a hit each in the loss. 

Game 2 saw Nyack face the Lake Erie College. Nyack got on the scoreboard first in the top of the first inning when Sinanaj doubled to left field, which allowed Stephanie White to reach home. Lake Erie tied the game in the bottom of the first, before Katalina Padilla hit a double in the top of the 5th and Gabrielle Placencia scored to give Nyack the 2-1 lead. However, Lake Erie would tie the game again in the bottom of the 5th, 2-2. The Storm would score five runs in the bottom of the 6th to seal the victory. Aferdita Sinanaj led the Warriors with two doubles, one RBI, and a stolen base.

The Warriors will be back tomorrow when they Ursuline at 9:00 am and St. Rose at 2:00pm. Both games will be played at Hancock Park in Clermont, FL.
