Nyack, N.Y. -- With her 19 points on the scoreboard that night, senior Tayelor McCalister led the Nyack College women's basketball program to a 72-60 victory over Felician College on Tuesday evening's Senior Night.
Prior to tip-off, the Warriors celebrated the accomplishments, on and off the court, of Tayelor McCalister.
Accompanying her team-high 19 points, McCalister capped her night with 5 rebounds and added 6 assists to her final stat line for the Warriors. Also in double-figures for the home team were Bryanna Brown, Yamalis Villegas, and Kelli Smoot, who finished with 15, 11, and 10 respectively.
The Warriors got out to a strong start in the first frame, as they commanded a 24-18 lead against Felician and continued their lead throughout the second and third quarters as well.
As a team, the Warriors capitalized on visitor turnovers, scoring 30 points off Felician's turnovers during the contest. It was a good night for the Warriors as they went on a 9 point scoring spree during the first 7 minutes of play in the second quarter, as Felician remained pointless until the last three minutes of play.
With 30 seconds left on the clock in the fourth quarter, Bryanna Brown registered her 15th point of the game, completing her free throw. Despite Felician outscoring the hosts 20-17 in the last quarter, Nyack hung on to earn the twelve-point victory.
The Warriors closed out their regular season. They are grateful for the contributions the senior, Tayelor McCalister, has made to the program as they look to continue to build their program for the following years to come.
