Women's Basketball Falls to Dominican on the Road in Final Regular Season Game

Orangeburg, NY - The Nyack College women's basketball team traveled to local rivals Dominican College for their last regular season game.

Game Summary:

  • the Chargers enjoyed a better start with a 15-6 run in the first five minutes of the first quarter, which saw them outscore Nyack 22-13
  • Nyack improved in the second quarter and kept up with the Chargers in a close 21-23 quarter that saw the Warriors trail by 11 at halftime
  • Nyack tried to keep up with the CACC North Division leaders throughout the remainder of the second half but was held short by Dominican
  • the game eventually finished with a final score of 58-77

Key Performances:
Nyack was led by three Warriors with double-digits. Kyla Given recorded another double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds, while freshman Elle Nittinger also totaled 15 points on the day. Jocelin Wright rounded up the trio with a 12-point performance.

Season Recap:
Nyack finished the season with a 2-17 conference and a 4-24 overall record. Freshman Elle Nittinger led the squad throughout the 2018-19 season with a point average of 12.6 points per game which ranked her in the top 25 of the conference. Kyla Given finished #9 in the conference in rebounds per game with a total of 7.5 and #6 overall in the conference in total rebounds with 210.
