Caldwell, NJ - The Nyack College women's lacrosse team suffered a 19-9 road loss to the Caldwell University Cougars on Saturday afternoon. The loss drops the Warriors' record to 1-9 overall and 1-3 in CACC play.
Caldwell would score the first goal of the afternoon three minutes into the game. But Nyack's Julianna Kranes would answer with a pair of goal to give Nyack the 2-1 lead with 25:33 minutes to go in the first half. The Cougars would regain their lead with six unanswered goals, 2-7. Victoria Silvers added another goal for Nyack at the 11:30 minute mark cutting the Caldwell lead to four. But Caldwell would add a pair of goals to move ahead by six. Silvers and teammate Jocelin Wright brought Nyack back within four with 4:23 remaining in the half. But Caldwell would close out the first half with four consecutive goals to gain a 13-5 halftime lead.
Nyack's Abby Wilmot would score the first goal of the second half after 55 seconds were played. Caldwell answered three minutes later with a goal of their own, before Victoria Silvers added her third of the day. The Cougars extended their lead to twelve with five unanswered goal between the 21st and 7th minute. The Warriors would close out the scoring of the day with a pair of goals in the final minute of the game Julianna Kranes scored her third of the day, while Silvers added her fourth.
Silvers led the Warriors with four goals and six groundballs, while Julianna Kranes recorded three goals on the day.
Up next: Nyack will be back on Tuesday when they travel to NJ to take on the Felician University Golden Falcons in a CACC road match. The game will start at 7:00 pm.
