Women's Lacrosse Suffers Road Loss to Georgian Court University Lions

Nyack, NY - The Nyack College women's lacrosse team lost its CACC road match against the Georgian Court University Lions with 20-6. The loss drops the Warriors' record to 2-11 overall and 2-5 in CACC play. 

Georgian Court scored the first goal of the match after four minutes of play, before Nyack's Abby Wilmot would tie the game at the 25:49 minute mark. The Lions would answer with three consecutive goals. Victoria Silvers scored her first goal of the day at the 19:51 minute mark, 2-4. 

But the Lions would pull away with eight unanswered points to earn a 10-goal lead, 2-12. Julianna Kranes would add another Nyack goal with 2:11 to go in the first half, 3-12, but the Lions would score the last goal of the first period with 57 seconds left, 3-13. 

The second half started with another Julianna Kranes goals, before the Lions would score seven goals to pull ahead by 16. Nyack would score the last two goals of the day, when Jocelin Wright and Hailey Newell score their first goals of the game, 6-20. 

Up next: Nyack will be back next Tuesday, April 18th, when they travel to the Dominican College Chargers for a CACC match, starting at 4:00 pm.
