Hillburn, NY - The Nyack College women's lacrosse team lost its CACC match against the Dominican College Chargers 10-20 on Tuesday afternoon.
The Chargers scored the first five goals of the game, before Victoria Silvers and Julianna Kranes scored the first two Nyack goals of the day with 19 minutes left in the game. But Dominican would answer with six consecutive goals to jump to a nine goal lead, 11-2.
Kranes and Silvers would answer again with a goal each to cut the Charger lead back down to seven, 11-4. Dominican would add two more before halftime, but it was Nyack's Silvers who would score the last goal of the first half, 13-5.
Hailey Newell would score the first goal of the second half to add another goal to the Warrior side of the scorebaord. The Chargers answered right away with a goal of their own, 6-14. Silvers scored her fourth goal of the day with 25:53 minutes left in the game, before Dominican would go on a three-goal run, 17-7. Newell would score her second goal of the game, while Abby Wilmot was also able to contribute to the Nyack scoring of the day with her first goal in the game. The Chargers added two more, before Silvers scored her fifth of the day with 3:58 left in the game, 19-10. The Chargers would conclude the scoring of the day with another goal at the two minute mark, 20-10.
