Lauren Lebo Named Head Women's Lacrosse Coach for the Nyack College Warriors

Wednesday, July 12, 2017 - Lauren Lebo, an inaugural member and foundation to the first recruiting class of the Women's Lacrosse program at Nyack College, has been named the Head Coach for the Women's Lacrosse team.  She is the second coach in Nyack College Women's Lacrosse history and comes to the position after an outstanding career as a player for the Warriors.

"I am thrilled to be adding Lauren to our coaching staff because she is a winner.  Lauren worked extremely hard to help establish this program under Coach Reis, and now she will strive to take it to new heights," stated Director of Athletics Keith Davie.  "We are excited to see Lauren continue the growth of the program and lead it to the CACC playoffs and beyond."

From 2012-15, Lauren scored 202 goals and won 466 draw controls.  Her 72 goals in 2013-14 led her to be ranked #2 nationally in goals per game for all NCAA Division II programs.  She led the nation in draw controls in both 2014-15 and 2015-16.

Academically and athletically, Lauren had many college options and she chose a Christian college education and experience at Nyack.  She was an exceptional student athlete and excelled academically graduating summa cum laude from the School of Nursing where she finished at the top of her class receiving both the American Nursing Association (ANA) Future Nurse Leader Award and the Drs. Ardel and Teresa Vietti Award for Academic Excellence in Nursing.

Lauren was a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Academic All Conference player throughout her career, as well as earning a spot on the institutional Dean's List each semester.  She was also honored with receiving the Jonathan L. Gainer Memorial Sportsmanship Award, the highest award given in the athletic department, at the annual Warrior Awards Ceremony.   At the conclusion of her senior season, Lauren was also named the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association's Division II Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Lauren's willingness to participate in several international trips as a nursing student and serving with a community health center make her an exceptional role model for current students.  She comes from a great family and grew up around athletics.  She sees the value of working hard and how athletics can instill character in student athletes.

When asked about her vision for the program, Lauren stated, "My vision for this year is to continue to build on the foundation that has been established of a team centered on Christ and focused on excellence.  I am excited to grow the program and create a culture of hard work, integrity, and sportsmanship.  I look forward to being a program that supports the Nyack community and excels in all we do, both on and off the field."
