Women's Lacrosse With Loss to STAC Spartans
The Nyack College lacrosse team faced St. Thomas Aquinas College on Saturday, with the Warriors getting off to a close start but eventually ending in a 21-6 loss.

At the start of the game, it was a back-and-forth battle for the teams as both sides remained scoreless for the first six minutes. Nyack played aggressively to force turnovers, and kept the STAC offense away from the Warriors' side of the field. STAC scored first at 6:25 after having three shot opportunities, but Nyack answered two minutes later with a goal from Tori Silvers. After a Nyack foul, STAC scored on a free-position shot and then had two more goals in the next minute to go ahead of the Warriors 4-1. STAC scored again at 12:51. Nyack pressed in on defense and caused a turnover that led to a score by Melissa Clapsaddle at 17:31. STAC scored twice more, and then Clapsaddle put it back in the net on a free-position shot at 23:56. Tori Silvers also scored on a free-position shot at 24:32, but STAC scored three more times before Melissa Clapsaddle took another free-position shot for a goal at 27:26. STAC scored once more before the break, sending Nyack into halftime down 11-5.

The second half started with STAC's offense coming out on a surge, with three goals in the first two minutes. Nyack's first shot of the second half came at 40:41 from Melissa Clapsaddle, but she was not able to get it past the goalie, and STAC continued to score five more times. Nyack got off three shots, two by Clapsaddle and one by Alison Rozzi, but STAC took back possession and scored again at 46:49. After a successful clear attempt by the Warriors, Melissa Clapsaddle scored at 50:42 off an assist by Julianna Kranes. STAC scored the final goal of the game, and the Warriors ended in a loss.

Melissa Clapsaddle led the Warriors with 4 goals and 6 shots on goal. Julianna Kranes added 1 assist, and Courtney LaTorre picked up 4 ground balls. Morgan Kessler had 10 saves as goalie.
