Warriors Fall to Bears, 1-3

NYACK, NY– The Nyack College volleyball team hosted the Bloomfield College Bears in a CACC matchup on Wednesday night at Bowman Gymnasium. The match would finish with a final score of Nyack 1 Bloomfield 3 (25-20, 14-24, 16-25, 16-25). The loss drops the Warriors to 5-12 in overall and 3-4 in conference play. 

Bloomfield 3, Nyack 1

The Warriors came out hot and would take the first set with a score of 25-20. Nyack was hitting .231 and finished the first set with 15 kills. The Bears would rally back and earn the next three sets to win with a final score of 3-1. Nyack hit .108 with 41 kills and 63 digs, while Bloomfield hit .260 with 48 kills and 73 digs. 

Freshman Hadley Spresser led the Warriors with a team high 13 kills, while adding seven digs. Alexus Winters chipped in 13 digs, while Megan Ma'afala-Maiava recorded 15. Kaitlyn Massey (17) and Olivia Denny (14) helped orchestrate the offense with a combined total of 31 assists. 

The Warriors will be back in action this upcoming Saturday, October 8, when they host the Philadelphia University Rams in a conference match-up. The match will start at 1pm.
