Women's Volleyball Defeats Dominican Chargers, 3-1

Nyack, NY– The Nyack College volleyball team defeated the Dominican College Chargers in a hard fought 3-1 battle on Tuesday night (27-29, 25-21, 25-20, 28-26).

The Chargers would take the first set, 29-27, after hitting .146 during the set with 12 kills.

The Warriors rallied back and won the next three sets to seal the victory. The second set saw the Warriors beat Dominican 25-21. The Warriors were hitting .140 with 16 kills. Nyack would win the third set as well with a score of 25-20 set to gain the lead. The Warriors sealed the deal with a hard fought fourth set. The last set of the night would end with a score of 28-26 in favor of Nyack.

Abbey Lawson (14) and Lindsay Miller (13) led the Warriors with a a total of 27 kills. Lawson also added three solo blocks to lead the defense at the net. Kelsi Collins led the ladies with 22 digs and was closely followed by Hadley Spresser (16) and Nikole Morales (13). Olivia Denny (25) and Kaitlyn Massey (24) helped orchestrate the offense with a combined total of 49 assists.

Nyack hit .150 in the match with 61 kills and 86 digs, while Dominican hit .067 with 39 kills and 82 digs.

The Warriors will be back in action this upcoming Friday, October 28, when they travel to New Jersey to take on the Caldwell University Cougars. The match will start at 6pm.
