Women's Soccer Fall to Post Eagles Despite a Strong Comeback Effort

Nyack, NY - The Nyack College women's soccer team hosted the Post University Eagles in a CACC match on Wednesday afternoon. The Eagles edged out the Warriors with a final score of 3-2 Despite a strong comeback effort by Nyack in the first 45 minutes.

Post got off to the better start when they scored three minutes into the first half. A cross found Sabrina Adamo in the box who would score her first goal of the season. The Eagles continued to dominate the first 45 minutes and it was Adamo again with her second goal in the 23rd minute to give Post a 2-0 lead. Despite the two goal lead the Warriors started to found their way into the game. Junior Zion Dewerff was rejected by the post in the 30th minute. Three minutes later the Warriors would do it better and find the back of the net for the first time of the day. Maria Vargas' shot was touched by Post's goalkeeper but found its way into the top left corner regardless. It took the Warriors only 60 seconds to find the equalizer. After a scramble in the box the ball jumped to junior midfielder Milena Ricken who scored her first goal of the season to tie the game at two.

Both teams continued to seek the game winner in the second half. The Warriors had a big chance to go ahead in the 83rd minute when Dewerff found herself inside the box, but her shot was saved by Post's goalkeeper. On the other side Post was awarded a freekick outside the box. Post's Fitore Kllobocishta found the head of Amber McGee who scored the game winner in the 86th minute to earn the win.

The Warriors will be back on Saturday when they travel to Delaware to take in the Goldey-Beacom Lightning in another conference match.
