Warriors Volleyball Secures Victory Over Caldwell in Five

The Nyack College women's volleyball team faced off against Caldwell University in an away conference match. The Warriors fought hard to pull out the win bringing Caldwell to five sets and securing the victory. 

In the first set, the Warriors took control of the game finding themselves seven points ahead of Caldwell. As the game went on the Warriors began to let up which resulted in Caldwell coming back from the point deficit and tieing the score up at 20-20. Using that as a wake up call, the Warriors decided to fight and won the game with a score of 26-24.

The second set of the game began with the Warriors climbing ahead of Caldwell by 6 points, but at a score of 9-5 Caldwell managed to score five points in a row putting them in the lead at a score of 10-9. Both teams fought hard to get ahead but traded points until a score of 18-17 when Caldwell got up four points ahead of Nyack. The Warriors were unable to put the ball down and ended this set with a loss and a final score of 19-25.

In the thirs set, the Warriors began to trail behind Caldwell quickly but were unable to bridge the score gap losing the set with a final score of 22-25. At this point in the match Caldweel has won 2 sets and Nyack has won 1. 

In the fourth set, the Warriors made the decision that they weren't going to let Caldwell take the game without a fight. At the start of the game the Warriors were able to score seven points in a row putting them in the lead. Throughout the game Caldwell slowly brought the score closer together until it evened out at 15-15. Both teams were neck and neck until a kill by Cassady Hymes and few attack errors put the Warriors back in the lead with a score of 24-22. Paige Easley ended the game with a hard tip kill down line, securing the set for the Warriors. 

The fifth and final set consisted of the Warriors coming out of the gate confident in their abilities to take this game from Caldwell. They opened up the game with a sevice ace by Cassady Hymes which set the tone for the rest of the game. Nyack slowly creeped ahead of Caldwell with kills by Kyra Zuhlke, Bailey Medeiros, and Cassady Hymes, and with service aces by Bayleigh Massey and British Dawson. The Warriors took the set with a total score of 15-6 and took the match 3-2.
